23 Apr Features New Luxury Home Buyers Want

New luxury homes are now coming with the features that are functional and enhance the daily lives of today’s buyers. The luxury home features that are most likely to be seen in single-family homes this year are:

luxury home kitchen features

* Walk-in closets in the master bedroom
* A laundry room with added functionality like folding stations or desks
* Energy efficient windows and appliances
* A great room

Features like granite countertops, double sinks and central islands are becoming the norm in luxury home kitchens. Private toilets and linen closets set luxury bathroom spaces apart. Additional new home features likely to be included throughout the home include nine-foot high and higher ceilings, front porches, custom outdoor lighting and patio kitchens that increase living space.

Energy efficiency for new homes continues to be an ongoing theme with Energy-Star rated appliances, advanced thermostats and Energy-Star rated windows at the top of the list of must haves for luxury home buyers.

For New Homes Month in April, the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) surveyed builders on features they were most likely to include in a typical single-family home this year, revealing that convenience, livability and energy efficiency are top priorities.
