The Whatley family, including two kids and two dogs, made a very long distance move to The Point in Mooresville, NC from New Mexico. They found a beautiful lot in The Point with mature trees in a gated cul-de-sac. For a year while the house was being built the Whatleys rented a house literally right around the corner from their lot and became friendly with all the trades, as well as their construction manager David Timmerman. The Whatley’s chose to build a customized Camden with finished attic space while saving many of the trees already on the lot in hopes of creating a wonderful outdoor living space with a fire pit in the future. Their Camden has a striking exterior of dark gray paint and white trim with white shutters. For the interior palette the Whatleys chose a subtle gray. The kitchen has a uniquely modern but calm feel with a polished albanella tile for the kitchen backsplash and contrasting cabinets with black stain on the island and the perimeter with a custom stain called London Fog. The Master Bath is a stunning mix of White Carrara marble with deep gray “washboard” stain on shaker cabinets. There are also gorgeous light fixtures throughout the house that were chosen with the help of Terry MacCallum at Lightstyles to compliment the overall design and feel of the house.
