What are some of the latest trends to hit the interior design market for new homes? Pops of color, texture and details. Bold, geometric patterns are back! Tangerine Tango is the color for 2012.

What areas of the home do you see buyers spending the most amount of time and money when making their interior selections? Kitchens and master bathrooms. Kitchens not only have to be beautiful, but user friendly for all ages and easily maintained. Master bathrooms still have to be a haven for most.

Where do you see interior color and style trends going int he next couple years? The past couple years have been pretty bright, from teal to tangerine. I hope this trend continues, but maybe paired with muted shades of the same and some neutrals that you wouldn’t normally consider together.

How do the kitchen finishes of today compare to those of only 5 years ago? Everyone still loves granite, mixed cabinet finishes, and modern appliances with traditional cabinetry. Quickly becoming the main focal point, are back splashes which have come a long way in 5 years.  There are so many more choices out there now from  metals and glass, to distinctive shapes and designs now extended all the way up to the ceiling.

Are there any new products on the market that would appeal to the buyer inspired by Green Living? Yes! From an array of color blend concrete roof tiles that accommodate solar energy to counter tops that incorporate recycled glass and carpets made from recycled 2-Liter bottles.

Who are some of your favorite furniture and decor manufacturers and why? The Restoration Hardware product is taking over! They have a great selection of finishes and texture.
