Arthur Rutenberg has been creating homes since 1953 which have redefined the housing industry as well as home building franchising. Driven by innovation and the desire to create quality homes at affordable prices, Arthur Rutenberg homes now has 43 franchises operating in eight states.
Arthur Rutenberg originally knew nothing of home building, but rather attained a degree in chemical engineering. After starting a dry goods business with his brothers, Arthur decided to look elsewhere for inspiration. He got his building license in framing and began building his first homes in 1953. His home designs focused on larger master bedroom, split floor plans, and garage sales offices for his franchises. His idea to franchise was totally new to the home building industry yet it paved the way for smaller builders to offer quality construction under the Arthur Rutenberg umbrella. Arthur passed away in 2017 at the age of 89 and was inducted the same year into the National Housing Hall of Fame.
Barry Rutenberg is Chairman of Barry Rutenberg Homes and has built over 1,000 homes in Central Florida since 1973. He offers nearly 80 home designs from 2,200 to over 7,000 square feet and an inventory of properties in upscale communities from .25 to over 10 acres in size. Barry is Past President of the Florida Home Builders Association, Area V National Vice President, Chairman of the National Association of Home Builders, and was recently inducted into the Florida Housing Hall of Fame.
