This small historic beach village off of scenic highway 30A sits between Destin and Panama City Beach. Designed to be residential, there aren't shopping malls, theme parks, or arcades here, although a short drive east or west will get you those things if you want. Front porches, upper decks and lots of ceiling fans bring to mind another time when life was slower. It boasts a charming town center, and a laid back atmosphere, activities, artists galleries, events, and attractions. From local farmer's markets to live music on the weekends at the famous Red Bar and lots of opportunities for outdoor recreation and water sports. Grayton Beach is one of the few beaches in the Panhandle that issues permits for about $250 a season that allow for the driving of vehicles on the pure white sugary sand. This is one of the premier vacation spots along 30A. However, Grayton Beach is more than just an amazing place to take a vacation-It´s where the locals want to live.
