In April 2016, Jude started another chapter of her life in a beautiful custom Bermuda. After spending 22 years in her current Cornelius residence, Jude was ready to downsize from the three stories she had become accustomed to, and settle in to a beautiful—and more functional—one story.

As for her decision to build in Pinnacle Ridge, she fell in love with the neighborhood during one of her many trips there to play bridge.

Feeling ready to take action, she bought land and contacted Kim, our sales consultant, and started the process of building her custom home. She felt more prepared for the journey, as friends who had worked with us in the past had given her tips on how to stay organized during the process.

She declared the Design Center to be amazing, and that working with our interior designers was an incredible experience. Having moved more than 20 times in her life, she had already developed a keen sense of her design preferences and was able to make decisions quickly. She told us that picking out custom fixtures and other elements of interior design of the home—a process that takes most of our luxury clients two days—only took her one.

When it was time to build, she was happy with how accommodating everyone continued to be and was impressed by how well they handled all the little hiccups that were bound to happen along the way.

She laughed at the memory of being asked where she wanted the ‘power points’ to go in her home. Not knowing how to reply, the sub contractors and builders on board were happy to make suggestions that were backed with a wide range of experience.

She works from home quite often, so decided that she needed to treat herself with a custom space that was all her own. A huge bay window flanks the side of the house and is lined with window seating, making it the perfect reading area. It’s straight out of a book lover’s dream.

A pool is going behind the house to provide her and her daughter with a fabulous workout. A deck leadsBailey Porch resizeddown to and surrounds the pool making it the perfect spot to lie out in the sun, while the screened-in porch protects her from bugs, to which she is extremely allergic. The electric screens scream luxury, as the user must simply push a button to open and close them. The four-season room with gas fireplace opens up into this screened-in area, making her outdoor paradise complete and bug free.
