A new American farmhouse now open to the public (4986 Slanting Bridge Road, Sherills Ford, NC)
The modern farmhouse has become the new classic in custom home design. At Bluefield’s latest model, the Claremont, you’ll find a showpiece of traditional farmhouse and modern architecture in a luxurious lakefront retreat on Lake Norman.
The Claremont’s rustic beams, barn doors and shiplap features are signatures of the farmhouse style. But this custom model goes one step further. A dramatic stairwell with high-ceilinged windows opens onto a luxurious living space and an expansive porch with stunning views over the lake.
On the lower level, there is a custom indoor/outdoor bar for lakefront entertaining and a fun family space including billiards and a light-filled exercise room. It’s a modern take on a classic.
Designer Daniel Stiling (Associate Director of Design at Arthur Rutenberg Homes) on the Claremont plan:
“The simple yet innovative floor plan was designed for livability and to capture the lake views on the lot. With a pocketing glass track door system that’s over 20 feet wide, the Great Room and Dining opens to rear porch, nearly doubling the size of the main living area. The Modern Farmhouse exterior follows southern/low country vernacular, using elements like exposed rafter tails and metal roof accents. “
Interior designer, Colleen Roach, had the inspiration for the modern, clean lines of the furnishings and expressive artwork in the Claremont model. Colleen says:
“The Claremont model is an American farmhouse built with today’s modern lifestyle in mind. The home includes a dramatic foyer which filters tons of natural light to create a welcoming entry.
The great room has high vaulted ceilings with modern floating beams. A shiplap fireplace detail incorporates the traditional farmhouse feel. The Claremont model is located on a dream lot with stunning views that change with the season. This home has a large kitchen and bonus room great for entertaining.”
Builder Tom Arndt is excited to see what prospective home-owners have to say about the Claremont.
