Arthur Rutenberg Homes Settles Copyright Claim

Paragon Homes of Charlotte, an exclusive franchise of Arthur Rutenberg Homes recently settled a claim against a local Charlotte custom home builder related to allegations that the builder infringed on copyrighted architectural works.

“Arthur Rutenberg Homes goes through great efforts to copyright protect each and every one of our home designs,” said franchise owner Jim Rosewater.  “It helps us maintain the value of our unique home designs and overall collection of plans.  We simply cannot tolerate the theft of our intellectual property.”

Arthur Rutenberg Homes offers over 100 different home designs in both its Florida and Southern Design Collections.  The Southern Design Collection includes newer home designs developed specifically for the Carolinas.

Rosewater adds, “we build model homes to demonstrate the unique and functional qualities of our home designs.   Home shoppers may not realize how much more time and money we spend refining our home designs compared to the industry norm, but they do recognize the quality of the floor plans and how the homes furnish, function and flow better.  Design is one of cornerstones and is a large part of what has made our reputation legendary.”
