In a 25 year career, David has found a passion in the acquisition and development of residential communities, with construction of both single and multi-family homes. He is a Licensed Contractor in the state of Alabama, and his career has been highlighted to date by ~4,700 residences, ~9.5M sqft of construction, ~ $1B in real estate transactions, and recognition in the US Builder 'Top 100' list.

His current investment to secure an Alabama franchise for Arthur Rutenberg homes, leverages this experience with the resources of a 60+ year building Company, sharing national recognition with over 45 franchisees in the Southeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Mid-Western cities of the United States.

For 4 years from 2013-2016, David served and successfully opened a Birmingham operating division as Division President for an Atlanta based homebuilder. Prior to that he served as the President of Cottage Builders, Inc., a Birmingham based general contractor, where he lead a team of 20+ multi-family professionals in developing and constructing large scale student housing communities in close proximity to major universities. These developments spanned the country with municipalities in Alabama, North Carolina, Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona.

From 2002 - 2012, David spent more than a decade, and served as a Partner and Managing member of a privately held company based in Birmingham, Al. He oversaw the construction of more than 25 residential communities, and ~3,800+ single family homes in the Birmingham and Huntsville metropolitan areas, to include construction in Jefferson, Shelby, St. Clair, Madison and Limestone counties. He managed a team of 80+ professionals and at its peak, maintained ~250 homes under -construction, selling 550 single family homes per year.

In the early 1990's, David began his career with Ernst and Young LLP, where he earned his CPA certification, and served both publicly traded and privately held clients most notably in the Pulp and Paper Mill, Steel Manufacturing, and Construction and Engineering Services, industries. These clients maintained annual revenues from $2M-$3B.

David grew up in Daytona Beach, Florida but calls Birmingham, Alabama home, where he and his family have lived for 25 years. He and his wife have been married 23 years and have 3 children (20, 15, 10). David graduated from the University of Alabama in 1992 with a degree in Accounting, and as a football letterman with both an SEC Championship and Academic All-SEC honors.
